DANIEL OH was named Honorary Chair by the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival Committee.  Our friend, Daniel, has been involved with the Partnership since its inception and was its Co-Chair for four years.  As stated in a recent release, “The CDBF honorary chair was created in 2001 and is nominated by the AAPI communities. According to the CDBF, the chair is a member of the AAPI community who serves as a positive role model through their public position, volunteer work or social activism. Oh, a first-generation Korean American, has been active in Colorado's AAPI community, participating in a variety of groups from the Governor's Asian Pacific Advisory Council to being a founding member of the Aurora Asian/Pacific Community Partnership. He also serves on the National Unification Advisory Council of Korea, a worldwide group that discusses issues and unification of North and South Korea.  ‘My vehicle as a volunteer activist is to serve the Asian people and to reach out to American society to help open doors for them in the state of Colorado and beyond,’ Oh said in the release.”  For more information about the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival, which takes places July 24-25 at Sloan's Lake Park, go to www.cdbf.org.
