Dear JASSC Members and Friends:

From time to time, Japan America Society of Southern Colorado invites an outstanding individual in a particular field (cultural, political, educational, business, etc.) to speak to members of JASSC and friends under our "Outstanding Speaker Program".

It is JASSC's privilege to invite PROFESSOR LONNY JOSEPH GORDON, perhaps the foremost American expert on the subject of the classical Japanese theater of KABUKI, NOH, and BUNRAKU, to make a presentation to us on Monday, June 27 at Colorado College. An American who has studied the Japanese theater for many years throughout his life in Japan, Professor Gordon was the Dean of the Fine Arts Department at Illinois State University and was professor of the Department of Dance Arts at the University of Las Vegas for many years. Because Prof. Gordon's accomplishments would take pages to narrate, please check out his website at www.longordon.com for all his accomplishments.

The following is information related to the Outstanding Speaker Event:
SPEAKER: Professor Lonny Joseph Gordon
SUBJECT: His Life Study of Kabuki, Noh, and Bunraku
DATE/TIME: Monday, June 27, 2011 at 6 PM - 7 PM

Professor Gordon, who is visiting some dear friends in our area, has graciously agreed to spend an evening discussing and explaining Japanese theater to members of JASSC and to the community. Please don't miss a rare and rewarding opportunity to learn about Kabuki, Noh, and Bunraku from a renowned expert in the field!

(Palmer Hall is the large building just on the east side of Colorado College's Tutt Library. This is the same room where our Children's Day takes place annually.)
