INVITATION and PROGRAM

To:  Jane Sarmiento, Co-Chair and all Members of Aurora Asian/Pacific Community Partnership - - and Friends of the Partnership

United States Vietnamese American Volunteers Alliance Colorado Division is a non-profit and public service organization whose members are patriotic volunteers.  USVAVACD is a chapter of the National USVAVA. Its headquarters is located in California.  Founder and National Commanding General is US Brigadier General (Retired) Joseph Potter.

Our two primary missions:

• Protect our Homeland Security: Working and training with police, fire departments, city, county and state emergency management offices, the Red Cross and other organizations to provide ‘backup’ to first responders in case of national disasters or terrorist attacks. We concentrate on our home areas first through Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT).  Then we train to support the Red Cross in Disaster Response Teams.
• Provide “Final Military Honors” to all veterans when needed, especially our Asian Allies when they lose their veterans. We train to perform the military honors to the precise standards of the Department of Defense. Additionally, we provide Honor Guards that can perform at ceremonies and march in parades. We wear uniforms with Army ‘honorary’ ranks.

• Pinning ‘Honorary’ ranks to new Staff Officers
• Presenting USVAVACD’s Headquarters
• Introducing Democratic and Republican candidates for Gubernatorial, U.S. Senate and U.S. Congress.

The event will be presided over by B. General Joseph Potter, USVAVA National Commanding General.
